President Obama speaks to the nation tonight
What a pleasure it will be to hear a president who actually can communicate effectively and eloquently with the American people. What a stark contrast to the previous eight years. I'll be tuning in to hear President Obama's message of hope, while realizing that there is no quick fix to the economic mess he inherited from former President Bush. Even writing former President Bush feels good, you should all give it a try.
Don't be surprised to see a GOP response which attacks the president and throws words like socialism and liberal around with a grain of salt. Remember, it was the so-called fiscal conservatives who took our largest surplus in history and threw it down the drain with reckless spending at home and abroad with the senseless and needless Iraq War.
If those folks are the conservatives, I say we ought to try out the progressive/liberal agenda and see how that works. Stay tuned!!

As usual, the GOP sent out a familiar message of tax cuts for the wealthy as a "cure-all" for the American economy.
Haven't we heard that all before? New ideas folks, new ideas!
The GOP message at least differed from Mark Dansack's raise the "income tax, sales tax, and bring back taxes that have been repealed" message.
Anonymous,
I know not of what you speak. I believe you may be referring to my plan to reduce property taxes and then look for another method of funding schools in Ohio.
When you reduce or remove one funding source, it might make sense to replace that source, so if I can remember back almost three years, it appears that you are employing the same attacks that my opponent utilized when he realized he had no record to run on. Tsk, tsk, $500,000 to tell people why to vote against me! (maybe he could have gotten by with $450,000?)
By the way, I believe my challenge to debate the issue was never answered by that somewhat cowardly opponent, who preferred to hide behind thousands of dollars of negative advertisements rather than face me in debate.
And thanks for identifying yourself in your post. It appears that you would qualify for same "Profiles in Courage" award that my former "worthy?" opponent did.
You may want to ask him what his plan is for funding schools in Ohio if you get the chance. My guess is that he has no interest in actually solving that dilemma since it appears he is merely interested in his home school system which regularly passes levies. Maybe he ought to be concerned with the other 95 % of his district?
We do, however, have a brand new "Joe Wurzelbacher" legislation in place, so all is good in the world. Just the facts, ma'am.
