Excellent piece by Gary Hart, capturing the essence of John McCain and his dogged rationalization for our continued occupation of Iraq. I believe that our involvement in Iraq can be correctly summed up by the following phrase from former Senator Hart: ". . . we chose the wrong war at the wrong time with the wrong enemy".

Seriously folks, let's strategize our exit from Iraq and commit to utilizing our resources to defend our borders and build up our decaying infrastructure. Let's commit to improving our educational system to give each of our children the fighting chance they deserve in our global economy. To those who believe this would be wasteful spending, I can only say that if these folks think that education is expensive, wait until they discover the price of ignorance.

Have a great evening and let's make sure to spend some time this weekend remembering those who have served our country and fought and at times died for the freedoms we enjoy and sometimes take for granted. Remember those who served and served well this Memorial Day, May 26, 2008. Thank you.
